Free Drinks Offered by Cruise Line

April 28, 2015 – Miami-based Norwegian Cruise Line will be offering passengers beer, wine and spirits for free as a part of cruise packages from Miami to the Bahamas.  The all-inclusive offer starts January 2016 on the Norwegian Sky.

The cruise line is testing the concept on three- and four-day sailings.  The shorter cruises introduce people to cruising, according to Andy Stuart. President and Chief Operating Officer of Norwegian and they anticipate the all-inclusive package will be popular.  The free drinks policy extends to the cruise line’s private island, Great Stirrup Cay, where passengers can swim, kayak and snorkel.

Stuart sees the move as making the cruise more comfortable for passengers and relieving the stress of who buys the next round of drinks.  Fare prices will rise slightly but less than the cost of buying a drinks package which cost $60 per person per day.
